To find out more about the incredible lifestyle that awaits you at Wicksteed Lodge park, please look at our frequently asked questions below
Here are some of the most commonly posed questions when thinking of buying a Lodge.
Can we live here permanently? - Our season runs from 7th February to 7th January. During this time you are welcome to use the park as much as you like. You cannot have mail delivered here, though most owners take advantage of the mailbox service offered by our local Post Office. During our closed season you are welcome to visit your lodge for short periods to ensure that all is OK.
What do owners do in the closed season? - Many of our owners have homes abroad, others choose to spend this time travelling both abroad and in the UK, to take advantage of the low cost at that time of year and others choose to stay with family. Whatever they do they will arrive back on the 7th of February relaxed and refreshed.
Why do people buy lodges at Wicksteed Park? - There is no doubt that Wicksteed Park is a beautiful setting. The park is also very well managed and this appeals to our existing owners. Most of our new owners have benefited from the increase in house values over the past 20 years and have chosen to realise, and enjoy, their equity. Buying a smaller bricks and mortar home is still fairly expensive and you have no guarantee of who your neighbours will be. Houses attract high running costs which are difficult to replace on a pension. Our lodges give people all the advantages and in addition you have a luxury environment, peace and quiet, and independence, at a fraction of the cost!
Can we have a phone line? - All our lodges have broadband capability and many owners will have satellite TV (as long as the dish is tucked out of sight)
Do lodges lose money? - Our lodges are built to a residential standard and to a far higher quality than caravans, which can depreciate quite considerably. Although there is no guarantee of increased value, Lodges have proved to retain their value exceptionally well.
Can we pass the Lodge on to family? - Yes, the lodge is your property and you can give it to direct family whenever you wish. When you purchase, you are given a licence for the base on which the lodge sits and this guarantees location for 40 years. If you wish to transfer this, you simply let us know. (As you would expect, we reserve the right to approve your beneficiaries to ensure that they will not upset your neighbours.)
